Let's Talk

At risk of offending some and angering others, let's talk about what it means to be a Christian.  A Christian is a Christ follower.  Christ followers believe what the Bible says, and everything in it; emphasis on "everything".  Not what makes them feel good. Not what they want to believe.  The whole Bible in its entirety; Old Testament and New Testament alike.
Christians have faith.  I don't mean the faith that everyone has; that the seat we are sitting in won't just give out, that the car we are driving in won't blow up. I mean, faith in the unknown.  The definition of faith is "being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (found in Hebrews 11).  This means believing that God did send His only son to die on the cross for our sins, and most importantly that Jesus rose from the grave three days later.  So many people want proof of this.  Well, here ya go.  Besides the fact that there are over 500 eye witnesses recorded for this event, go look for Jesus' body; you won't find it.  Go look for Muhammad's body; you'll find it.
A true Christian does their part in Christ's Great Commission.  If you're going to take the title of "Christian", then you're expected to act like one. This doesn't mean Christians are perfect and will never mess up, however. Being a Christian means you "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything" God has commanded.  We were not made to conform to the ways of this world. I'm not saying if someone is a lesbian we have to hate them.  However, we are not supposed to support that decision. Love the sinner, hate the sin. Some say being gay or lesbian isn't a sin; refer to 1 Corinthians 6:9 and Leviticus 20:13. That's a whole different topic, though.  Christians are supposed to bring glory to God and lead others to the Truth.  This world doesn't need anymore watered down, scared to offend anyone, "Christians".  We need souled out Christians who believe in One way to heaven, through the blood of Jesus Christ.
There's many other aspects of "Christian living" that we could get into; however, I'll leave those for a later time.  My main point is Christians need to step up and stop conforming to the ways of the world because of fear of offending anyone. Christians believe in ONE way to heaven, believe EVERYTHING the Bible says, and shouldn't be afraid to share the Truth with others.
